Kelly Lynn Simmons
Kelly L. Simmons is an applied sustainability educator who currently serves as both the Sustainability Training and Assessment Manager for the Environmental Center, and as a permaculture design instructor in the Environmental Studies Department at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Most recently she has been designing and leading co-curricular leadership and sustainability skills workshops and field trips for students, and for many years led the university’s Sustainable Practices Certificate Program, aimed at training mid-career aspirants to be effective sustainability professionals. Kelly has served as an advisor with the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) and has received several awards for her work in sustainability education. She has taught permaculture design at a range of venues including Swarthmore College, Naropa University, and Green School in Bali Indonesia. Kelly is an ISSP Certified Sustainability Professional and holds a national diploma in permaculture design education and community service from the Permaculture Institute.
